Who knows? One incarnation of the Eternal Champion is after all swinging psychedelic assassin Jerry Cornelius, no stranger to unusual couture....
In Mr. Reynold's defense, that's not supposed to be Elric. It's supposed to be a half-elf sorcerer iconic. I just challenge anyone to look at that pic and not think of the moody Melnibonean prince.
As for your friend's rebuttal, have you seen who topped out that list at #1? ;)
