The Phasors! They Burns Us!

This... looks less than promising.

This isn't the whole game; they promise you'll have away missions where you lead a team of up to five NPCs, plus you can join together with friends on joint missions. Still, the emphasis seems to heavily be weighted towards combat and shooting things. When all you have is a hammer...

That looks like a freaking mess.

Phasers, with an "e".

I am far more annoyed at how the warp nacelles seem to be leaving "vapor trails" in space.

this is simply crap. not that any other mmorpg is better...

Another shiny-shiny particle effects maelstrom update of a cheesy 90s RTS? Pass.

That looks awful.

I think it looks pretty stellar!

(oh lawd)

Anyone ever played Starfleet Battles? Or Starfleet Command Gold (the video game version)?

You need the vapor trails to show movement. What I don't like is how close everything is. Even in the warped (hur hur) physics of the earlier games you really did not want to be that close to a breaching warp core / exploding ship. In that video they're all but flying through the explosion.

That said, of course I'm not going to play it. I'm holding out for a Shadowrun MMO. That, or an MMO that's actually good. But I'd play a Shadowrun MMO even if I had to deal with all of today's MMO tropes.
