Awesome find.
Very underwhelming video.
Please, sci-fi writers out there, please note that the laser was invisible and burned for a few moments.
I think the more useful effect would be laser-spotting for a missile launching device. But this looks like they could make an automated system for airplanes to cook off incoming missiles. The technology seems out of reach at the moment though.
I'd say it's useful once they can pick a guy off a speeding motorcycle on a busy street without burning the motorcycle or anyone else.
